  • COVID Update

    Dear Chattooga County Families,

We know there is a concern with the impact of the coronavirus on our school community.  Our highest priority is the health and well-being of our students and staff.

As of March 3, 2020, two confirmed cases have been reported in Fulton County, Georgia.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will take action as necessary.

Chattooga County Schools continuously receives updates and guidance on signs and symptoms of the coronavirus.  Our school system is closely working with the Chattooga County Health Department and school nurses and will be monitoring information that is being released from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

There are preventative measures you can take that are recommended by the medical community. These measures are the same as those for the flu.

    • Wash hands frequently
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
    • Stay home if you are sick and running a fever
    • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or use tissues to cover the cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash

Chattooga County Schools will update school websites, social media, and local news stations if any information becomes available.

There is up-to-date information on the coronavirus on the Georgia Department of Public Health  website or the Center for Disease Control website

Thank you for helping us keep our staff, students, and community safe.
