Chattooga Healthcare Courses Partner With Atrium Healthcare Written by Nivea London
Chattooga High School has partnered with Atrium Healthcare to help provide college education and provide jobs for students with their CNA and CMA certifications through Mrs. McQueeses's class. Atrium is flying in a group of people from their headquarters in North Carolina to introduce their new “Pipeline” program. This program enables seniors of Chattooga High School to earn an Associate's degree in a health-related field from a local community college. Also, students can obtain an entry-level position at an Atrium Healthcare facility. Atrium Healthcare will pay for students' tuition, books, and other related fees. After completing their college courses, the students in the program are guaranteed a job at an Atrium hospital. The minimum wage for employees at Atrium Healthcare is $16.50 per hour. To be accepted into the program, students must complete the application process, which includes an essay about why they think this program would benefit them. The requirements to enter the program are a high school diploma and to be 18 years of age. Atrium is accepting a minimum of 20 students to the program this year. This is a great opportunity for the CNA and CMA students in Mrs. McQueese’s healthcare class.
