  • The Chattooga County Board of Education has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in the property tax by 4.58 percent.

     All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Chattooga County Education Center located at 206 Penn Street Summerville GA on 09/23/2021 at 9:30AM.

    This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 12.4040 mills, an increase of 0.543 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 11.861 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $75,000 is approximately $15.25 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $50,000 is approximately $10.86.
